ENTRY IS FREE!

DUE TO SPACE CONSTRAINTS, ENTRIES WILL BE LIMITED TO 30 ENTRIES (10 PER AGE CATEGORY). IF MORE THAN 30 ENTRIES ARE RECEIVED, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE CHOSEN THROUGH A RANDOM DRAW.

This contest is open to children who want to showcase their gingerbread housemaking skills.

Rules

Creators can use any theme they wish – it’s your chance to get creative!!! However, the final product must be a dwelling structure, walls must be made of real gingerbread and the house should have 75% edible ingredients or more (gingerbread houses will not be eaten).

Entries should be no larger than 16 in x 16 in.

Your gingerbread house will be judged by Breakfast with Santa attendees and winners will be announced at the next morning assembly.

There are three categories for entrants:

1. TK-2nd graders
2. 3rd-5th graders
3. 6th-8th graders

What could I win?

PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO THE TOP VOTE GETTERS IN EACH CATEGORY. VOTES WILL COME FROM BREAKFAST WITH SANTA ATTENDEES.

Prizes will be awarded in each category.

Winners could win: Tickets to the Oakland Zoo, Urban Air, Fairyland, and more!

Instructions

Please write a description of your masterpiece (what was your inspiration? what materials did you use?) on an index card and submit with your final product. 

Registration due by November 7, 2025.

Finished gingerbread houses must be dropped off at St. Joseph School on Friday, December 5, 2025, between the hours of 8am-4pm.

Winners will be announced and prizes awarded during the following morning assembly.
